Florida Polytechnic University’s new Applied Research Center received full funding to complete its construction. The state legislature and Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the state budget yesterday afternoon, approving the $14.8 million budget proposed by the university. The 90,000-sqft facility will focus primarily on research and industry collaboration. Teaching and research laboratories, student design spaces, conference rooms, faculty offices and ample study space will set the new building apart as Central Florida’s epicenter for research and economic development.
With an estimated total cost of $45 million, the 2-story building will sit on the Northwest side of campus, adjacent to the Innovation, Science, and Technology building.
